• Historical Context and Statutory framework
• National Curriculum and QCA Links
• Examining a wide range of resources which help schools as they work to embed an inclusive curriculum
• Meeting the requirements of the Primary Literacy Framework
Activities Include
• Using biographies and autobiographies for teaching and learning about people from minority cultures
• Using Speaking& Listening to enable pupils to develop knowledge and understanding about cultural diversity
• Hands on experience of world food with curriculum links
• Use of drama techniques to deliver statutory curriculum objectives
Learning Outcomes
Delegates will:
• Extend their knowledge and understanding of different cultures and so further their ability to deliver an inclusive curriculum
• Identify a variety of ways to introduce diversity in a cross-curricular manner
• Identify ways to involve the local community in the curriculum
• Be able to enhance their long term planning
